Ruthie Epstein holds a Master's of International Affairs from Columbia University and an A.B. in history from Washington University in St. Louis. She works as a Researcher & Advocate in the Refugee Protection Program, focusing on Iraqi displacement, immigration detention, and hate crimes and migrants. Before shifting to advocacy, she was a Program Associate in the Refugee Protection Program, helping to run the pro bono legal representation program for asylum seekers. She also worked for seven years as a freelance copyeditor for several major magazines in New York and performed on the downtown experimental dance and theater scene.
